Which Hard Cider is best?

Our first Couple’s Showdown!

A Couple’s Showdown is a mini showdown that just us two did together, and we encourage you to do together. It’s fun! (If you need help on where to start, let us know.) Our first Couple’s Showdown is a Hard Cider Taste Test!

We both really like cider, as opposed to beer and wine (though we do like those too 😛 ). And so one night while Jill was working late, I decided to reward her at the end with a fun cider showdown.

So which hard cider is best?

Well we only chose from 3, since it was just us two. Though 3 was hard enough, and Jill incorrectly guessed the brands on all three. 

The Contestants:

Angry Orchard – Crisp Apple

Woodchuck – Amber

Cidre

Yes we realize that there are many different flavors (not even apple), but we tried to go with the “original” as best we could.  A larger showdown will be coming and then we will make sure to separate amber from darker and lighter ciders. We both agreed that there was a more drastic difference than either of us would have thought.  When you get a cider out at a bar or restaurant, they usually taste about the same. Well not when they are up against each other, back to back.  You can tell a huge difference!

Going into it, Jill said that Cidre was her favorite, while I said I didn’t have a preference.

Afterwards, apparently Angry Orchard was Jill’s favorite, as that won!

Even though Cidre was last on this showdown, Jill still found herself reaching for the Cidre time and time again.  Old habits die young, I guess.
