2020 Trick or Treat
2020 is weird.
So very weird.
Everything is off kilter, but we have been trying to keep things as normal as possible for our kids. (Even this post isn’t about our normal Taste Tests, as we haven’t been able to hold taste tests during Covid.)
Typically our town has a ton of awesome Halloween activities: from Halloween parties, to many safe trick or treating options, to a charming pumpkin walk event.
As far as I can tell, these events are all canceled this year and we wouldn’t plan to attend anyway, in efforts to be our best “social-distancers.”
But I still was trying to think of a way that would be fun for kids to still do some Halloween fun while maintaining social distancing and being safe and smart…
Enter Easter Eggs
Specifically… orange Easter Eggs.
We will be decorating the eggs to look like Jack-o-Lanterns and then “hiding” them in our front yard.
2020 Trick or Treat is born!
We’ll invite our friends’ kids to come do a Halloween Hunt (AKA 2020 Trick or Treat) in our yard. (Ideally one family at a time.)
You could also consider spray painting the eggs with glow-in-the-dark paint, or putting a tea light or mini glow-in-the-dark stick inside to make it easier to find in the dark at your 2020 Trick or Treat.
This way the kids still get their candy, we still get to see great costumes, and we can all have a little sense of normalcy in 2020.
How are you celebrating 2020 Halloween?
